God has His ears open, and is ready with an answer- where are we? Are we in our position or our experience.? Location, location, location. “Can you hear me now”?
Abiding in him and His word abiding in us. John.15.7
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Remember we have our position and our experience. Abiding is all about our experience. Our position is backed up by truth, but our experience will tell us where we are abiding at that time.
For a time, Peter was abiding in his denial of Christ. He was abiding in his failure and the expression in his life at that time was depression and condemnation. It was not until after the Resurrection when Christ spoke again to him and restored him that he was able to abide in that truth of who he was to Christ.
David also failed many times but learned to abide in Grace and Mercy. Ps.31:8 Thou has set my feet in a large place.
1 Cor. 13,13 But Now abides faith, hope, love,- these three; and the greatest of these is love. Now abides faith — we won’t need it in Heaven. We know in RO.10.17 — that faith comes by the hearing of the Word. The Word abides in us like a seed that impregnates a woman, it grows within us. we nourish it.
When our faith is built up it empowers us to live by faith, to wait in faith, and to rest in faith. Like a babe in the womb, Mathew-Henry said “Faith fixes on the Divine revelation, and assents thereto, relying on the Divine Redeemer.”
Faith gives birth to Hope- Now abides Hope Mathew-Henry — “Hope fastens on future happiness and waits for that; -Hope is the living breathing expression of faith.” We Have a lively hope in 1Pe.1.3 Hope becomes a testifier to those around us. This hope encourages our faith and draws others to desire it also in 1Pe.3.15b … being ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you.
So Now abides- Faith and Hope. Then there’s Love. The greatest of all.
I Jude 21 — Keep yourselves in the love of God…
If I speak with the tongues of men and angels but have no love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. Corinthians 13 And, if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And if I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
Love suffers long, and is kind; love envies not; love vaunts not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeks not its own, is not provoked, takes no account of evil. It rejoices not in unrighteousness but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Eph 3:17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be strong to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, that ye may be filled unto all the fulness of God.
Now unto him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
Power — strength power, ability.
Inherent power — Power for performing miracles
Moral power and excellence of soul
All this is our wealth. How crazy it is that we who are so wealthy should live so poorly.
As we abide in Christ and Let His Word abide in Us. We are wealthy with an inheritance that is ours; in Him. We have faith that opens the treasures of His promises, hope that explodes with vitality and strength that draws the lost and dying, giving testimony to what they are longing for, and love stronger than death. Dunamis power.
The love of God. We abide in Christ and His Word in us- with an unlimited wealth of Faith, hope, and love.
